Our Minerals Our Future, Putting Local Communities First - Publish What You Pay Zambia Project

(0 votes)

Zambia is a mineral rich country with vast deposits of copper, gemstones, cobalt and now uranium is also being discovered. In spite of this wealth the vast majority of Zambians are not benefiting from this wealth owing to various reasons, one being mining companies not paying the right taxes to the government of Zambia.

In July 2013 the second Zambia alternative mining indaba was held and the communities where these mining activities take place voiced their opinions on the situation on the ground. This documentary is about how the communities are suffering in the midst of so much wealth.
